Privacy Policy
This policy explains how KaiTerm handles information for the website, account service, Pro subscription access, and encrypted sync.
Information We Collect
- Email address and account verification data used for sign-in and Pro entitlement.
- Billing event identifiers and subscription status received from Paddle.
- Encrypted sync blobs uploaded by the desktop app when sync is enabled.
- Operational logs needed to run, secure, and debug the service.
Encrypted Sync
Sync data is encrypted by the app before upload. The server stores the encrypted blob and revision metadata, but does not need your sync passphrase to provide storage.
Payments
Payments are handled by Paddle. KaiTerm receives billing events such as customer, transaction, and subscription identifiers so Pro access can be enabled or disabled. Do not send payment card details directly to KaiTerm support.
How We Use Information
Information is used to authenticate accounts, send verification emails, manage Pro entitlements, provide encrypted sync, prevent abuse, and maintain the service.
Sharing
KaiTerm shares information with service providers only as needed to operate the product, including email delivery, payment processing, hosting, and security operations. KaiTerm does not sell personal information.
Retention
Account, billing, and sync records are retained while needed to provide the service, satisfy legal or accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and protect the service.
Your Choices
You can use Standard features locally without Pro sync. You can disable sync in the app, cancel Pro through the billing flow, or contact support for account and data requests.
